I made a hat like this for my daughter's American Girl doll, and she loved it. So I had to write out the pattern. And while I was writing it, I realized it was the perfect dimensions for a newborn's head too. Bonus!
It's made using a worsted weight yarn, and is probably an advanced beginner level. You'll need to know how to crochet in the round, and follow a pattern that uses U.S. crochet terms and abbreviations.
The finished hat fits between an 11" and 12" head.
